In the context of the international financial crisis in spring 2009 and the resulting rising unemployment rate, the students of the Estonian Academy of Arts came up with the idea of offering recently laid-off employees an opportunity to make art.

The participants could choose between photographing or filming their daily routine or learning about contemporary art or visiting art galleries arround Tallinn. Besides creative workshops, discussions about labour and capitalism also took place meetings with artists working with social issues. The project also included video and documentary screenings on citizen initiatives.
